This new stand-alone facility was constructed on a “brownfield” site and achieved Gold LEED rating. The building was partially built underground making the important “library” feature of humidity control and moisture migration even more difficult. Weddle was the General Contractor for the work charged with managing the quality and controls of the project to meet the high performance standards required by the Owner and the factors required for LEED certification. An interesting component of this Library is that the roof is entirely covered by natural grasses and vegetation.
