Indy Go Downtown Transit Center

The IndyGo board of directors chose Bloomington-based Weddle Bros. Building Group LLC to build the planned Downtown Transit Center.

Weddle's bid of $16,894,000 was the lowest of six  for the project.

The Downtown Transit Center is expected to be the hub for the bus system in Indianapolis. The $20 million center at 201 E. Washington St. will feature a 14,000-square-foot building with a public indoor waiting area, space for IndyGo customer-service employees and facilities for bus operators. The 2-acre site will have 19 canopied bus bays, according to plans unveiled in February.
